Hard Rock Café operations manager Rey Perez said the amount they donated to CCA was a portion of the $2,215 collected from the entrance fees, a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of special limited-edition 2011 Hard Rock Pinktober merchandise, plus proceeds from the silent auction.
“We were very happy with the turnout because despite the government shutdown, over 300 people from all walks of life and different age groups showed up to support the event,” Perez told the Variety.
He said they will present the donation to CCA program manager Tina Sablan.
Items sold during the silent auction included a gift basket containing wines, chocolates, and other goodies donated by Alison Lubin of Expressions on Capital Hill, a dolphin tattoo ceramic vase sculpted by local artist Barry Wonenberg, a romantic dinner cruise package for two from Saipan Sunset Cruise, and handcrafted necklace from Kate Fuller of Fusion Designs.
The performers included Jerry Alacantara, Leila Steffler, Patz & Dhen, Larra Ramos, Black Sands, The SAI, MC Riyoko and Burning Bush.
“Overall, the event was very successful and I would like to extend our thanks to everybody who showed up to support the cause of raising funds for the research programs especially in finding a cure for breast cancer,” Perez said.
The sponsors were Pepsi, DFS-Galleria, IT&E, National Rent-a-Car and Konflict.
