Hundreds of students from different schools as well as parents, teachers and other community members attended the event.
“The festival gave our students a chance to showcase their talents in art and performances,” Hopwood principal and event coordinator Jonas Barcinas yesterday said.
From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., members of the public had a grand time going from one booth to another and admiring the artwork mounted on the walls and displayed on tables. This included paintings, drawings, wood carvings, jewelry and bead designs, linoleum painting.
Throughout the day, participants performed song and dance numbers as well as other forms of entertainment.
“The festival successfully drew out the talents and skills of our students in the field of arts, and we would like to cultivate these talents further,” Barcinas said.
The event was made possible by the PSS Career and Technical Education Program under Jessica Taylor and the event committee.
“We will be making this festival an annual event, and we will strive to make it a much better and bigger event in the coming years,” Barcinas said.
“On behalf of all the committee members, I am extending profound thanks to all who made the program successful. We look forward to your continuous support next year and in the coming years,” Barcinas added.
