Saipan Rotary Club to donate $1,000 to Japan tsunami victims

“What happened to Japan was very devastating, and we would like to help in any way we can,” club president Glen Perez said during the Rotary’s regular meeting at the Hyatt on Tuesday.

Perez said  they received an update from Rotary Club District 2750 that no Rotarian in the district had been reported affected by the tsunami but “that they will continue to work and identify members that might be possibly affected….”

Perez said Rotary International has emailed members with details on how to help and how to give donations to the victims.

Rotary clubs from all over the world have responded to the disaster by sending support teams, shelter boxes containing disaster relief tents, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, basic tool kits, children’s activity packs and other basic items.
