Skaters not responsible for graffiti

The island’s skateboarding society, ISK8, in collaboration with Ladera International School of Saipan and Practical Solutions conducted a graffiti cleanup at the skate park on Saturday.

“Why would [they] want to do something bad to their park when they themselves are telling me that they want to clean it?” Peterka said.

Over 50 skateboarders and LISS students helped remove the graffiti.

Volunteers used an environmental friendly chemical, Elephant Snot, to remove the ink stains on the wall.

ISK8 president Johanna Arellano said she was pleased to see more volunteers compared to the cleanup last year.

LISS humanitarian class club president Michael Park said the people responsible for the graffiti should stop their vandalism because it ruins the environment.

Peterka said she was pleased to see more volunteers joining the cleanup.

She said they will conduct more cleanups around the island this year.
