Chen was indicted on three counts of distribution of a controlled substance and one count of distribution of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.
The superseding indictment stated that Chen, on Aug. 15, 2007, distributed 0.9 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride also known as ice.
Chen on Aug. 17, 2007 distributed approximately 1.9 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride and 4.5 grams of ice on Sept. 14, 2007, the superseding indictment stated.
It added that Chen on Feb. 5, 2008, distributed in or and within 1,000 feet of the real property comprising San Antonio Elementary School, a controlled substance.
Chen, who was represented by attorney G. Anthony Long, was arraigned last week and entered a not guilty plea to the charges.
Chen’s jury trial will begin on Sept. 22 at 9 a.m. He remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshal Service.
