Veterans thank Rotary Club for DVD donations

Barbara J. Hunt, chief voluntary service of the Edward Hines Jr. Veterans Affairs Hospital in Hines, Illinois, in her letter dated Aug. 16, 2011, extends their thanks and appreciation to the Saipan Rotary Club on behalf of the hospital patients and staff.

“Without your support, we could not provide for the smaller niceties that make hospitalization more bearable. Your thoughtfulness also reflects the concern and compassion that our community feels for our veterans,” Hunt said.

She thanked the Rotary Club for its continued support.

In December last year, the Saipan Rotary Club donated 1,000 DVDs which were distributed to different hospitals and treatment centers for veterans  across the nation. The club also earned an Honor Roll status for its donation on the DVDs4Vets website.

To date, DVDs4Vets has distributed over 406,250 DVD’s from donations all over the country. The project aims to provide entertainment to veterans who cannot obtain DVDs on their own. DVDs4Vets is not a politically affiliated group and does not solicit or receive financial funding. All donations could be in new or used movies and DVDs and portable DVD players. If you would like to donate, visit www.dvds4vets.org. for further information.
