Villagomez-Bier returned to NMC last year after resigning from the cabinet.
She earlier said she was using her sick-leave privilege when asked by Variety about her absence at the college.
After a month of her absence, the college said she was on “administrative” leave.
Yesterday, the office of NMC President Carmen Fernandez stated that Villagomez-Bier “is no longer an employee of Northern Marianas College.”
NMC cannot disclose more information, according to its statement, “because as a general policy, [the college] does not comment on specific personnel matters.”
The statement added: “Northern Marianas College is home to many other exceptional and accomplished individuals. We continuously work on attracting and hiring the best candidates for our team. The vacancy announcement for the dean of student services will be made soon. We are inviting all qualified individuals to apply when the announcement is made.”
Leo Pangelinan, the college’s director of counseling programs and services, is the acting dean of student services.
