Participants also took part in workshops on grass skirt making, crafts using coconut fronds, mat weaving and others.
Yesterday, facilitators held sessions on digital storytelling, Chamorro language instruction, traditions such as infant burial rites on Guam and other islands, recycling resources locally, folktales, proverbs and other cultural practices before joining the Parade of Cultures at the Natibu Park last night.
This morning, the participants will break into sessions for grass skirt making and more, Lihli making for Nahnmwarkis, Animals as Time Tellers, Pohnpeian Kharhmar, Tree of Life, and mat weaving. After lunch, the group will conduct the election of new officers then go on an island tour guided by the Historic Preservation Office.
Dinner will be hosted by Tinian mayor Ramon Dela Cruz and the conference will end at 10 p.m.
