Luke Ridep was charged in January with Count one of trafficking in a controlled substance and Count two of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana.
After pleading guilty to marijuana trafficking, he was sentenced to two years imprisonment, all suspended, subject to conditions that he shall be on active probation, pay $200 fine within six months, and obey all laws of the country and directives of the Probation Office.
The maximum penalty for the offense is eight years imprisonment, a fine not more than $5,000, or both.
In exchange for pleading guilty to marijuana trafficking, the court dismissed the charges of marijuana possession.
Ridep was arrested through the help of a confidential informant (CI).
On April 22, 2009, the CI was given $5 in pre-recorded drug funds and was instructed to buy one marijuana joint from Ridep at the MAML Dive Shop.
The CI was able to successfully obtain marijuana joint from the defendant.
Ridep was arrested on June 15 last year, and five suspected marijuana joints were also found in his possession.
