Micro Challenge gets $250K more

Senator Tommy Remengesau , recently attended Nature Conservancy annual event in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Remengesau said that during the annual fundraising gala held last March 26, a check amounting to $250,000 was presented to him for the Micronesian Challenge.The president said the environmental initiative now has an amount of $1, 250,000.the Republic of Palau, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the U.S. Territory of Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands — committed to “effectively conserve at least 30 percent of the near-shore marine resources and 20 percent of the terrestrial resources across Micronesia by 2020.Remengesau said that proponents of the Micro Challenge are urging President Toribiong to continue supporting the environmental programs including the Protected Area Network (PAN) efforts.The senator Torribiong has made commitments to continue to support these programs.
