Nakamura wrote a letter to Ngiraingas in response to his allegations that the Belau Transfer & Terminal Company(BTTCO) , a company owned by Nakamura’s family was allegedly used for money laundering during Nakamura’s term as president.Ngiraingas has asked BTTCO officers to provide him records and information about the company.Ngiraingas said as a stockholder he is entitled to information.Naamura said Ngiraingas’s statement are nothing” less than harassment and acts of terrorism of a very desperate man. This tirade of character assassination degrades the Office of the Governor and demeans your oath of office as a public servant of the great state of Peleliu.”Nakamura said that BTTCO has existed for three decades and have been conducting annual stockholders meetings and has a competent board of directors.
He said the company has always provided transparency to its stockholders.Nakamura said if Ngiraingas cannot produce evidence to his allegations then he will file a libel case against him.Nakamura said Ngiraingas’ tirades are politically motivated and is aimed at ruining his good name.He said that as a public official the governor cannot continue to harass or terrorize fellow citizens and constituents.Ngiraingas is asking for documents on the company’s overall structure, assets, annual salary of Nakamura in the company.Ngiraingas alleged that Nakamura received certain amount of money during his term in exchange of his support to the Taiwan government.
