Palau House grateful for US health funding

UAK is a non-profit organization established to promote partnership projects in non-communicable diseases programs and to provide support clinically in the area of NCDs within Palau.

The Ministry of Health has  declared NCD as a major cause of death in this island nation.

In September, UAK received a total of $147,106 from CDC to help reduce chronic diseases, promote a healthier lifestyle, reduce health disparities and control health spending.

“There is a concerted effort in the Republic of Palau to combat NCDs and the Olbiil Era Kelulau [the national legislature] is appreciative and thankful for the transformation grant conferred to Ulekerreuil a Klengar by the U.S. Department of Human and Health Services,” stated the resolution, which was introduced by Delegates Jonathan Isechal, Lentcer Basilius, Noah Kemesong, Celestine Yangilmau and Kalistus Ngirturong.
