President Johnson Toribiong received the check on Wednesday from Taiwan Ambassador to Palau Maggie Tien.
The grant will fund the infrastructure needs of Palau’s states and help improve the local economy.Toribiong thanked the Taiwan government for the financial assistance.Tien said the grant is in line with the continued bilateral cooperation between Palau and Taiwan.She added that it is Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou’s policy to provide assistance that will benefit the people.“The [grant] process must be legal, transparent, and accountable,” Tien said.
