PCS celebrates 16th Annual General Meeting

June 14, 1994 was the day PCS was incorporated into a full-fledged registered non-profit organization under Palau laws. President Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. with presidential proclamation no. 04-49, proclaimed June 14 as Palau Conservation Day.

On Monday, PCS celebrated its day of incorporation.The celebration was an all day Open House in the PCS office on the second floor of the Bai ra Maibrel.

Later that same day, the Annual General Membership meeting was held showcasing the four main conservation programs for the next six years: Protected Areas and Conservation, Policy and Planning, 3) Communication and Outreach, and Administration and Development.

In the evening, the election for four vacancies for board membership was also conducted.Out of the seven nominees, Keobel Sakuma, Brengyei Katosang, Sandra Pierantozzi andClarence Kitalong were elected back on the board.

The current board members and staff welcomed the new members of the Board.

The PCS is the biggest environmental non-governmental organization in Palau.For 16 years, PCS has been working with Palau’s communities to conserve and manage their natural resources.
