Woman stole money for boyfriend

Jezebel P. Ponce denied the charge during arraignment on August 20 and entered a plea of not guilty to her grand larceny charge.

Ponce was released from the custody after posting $950 surety bond.The court ordered her not to leave Palau without court’s permission.The defendant was also ordered to obey all laws and orders of the court.According to the affidavit of probable cause submitted by the Bureau of Public Safety to the Supreme Court, Ponce on July 25, 2008, punched in for work.Ponce then noticed a yellow envelope that contained $940.The affidavit stated that she emptied the envelope and took the money.The defendant on August 18 arrived at the police station with a staff from the Philippine Embassy and gave a voluntary written confession.The affidavit stated that the defendant admitted of taking the money and wiring it to her boyfriend in the Philippines.
