(Press Release) — On Saturday, June 4, 2022, the Committee to Elect Richard T. Lizama for Mayor hosted a golf tournament at LaoLao Bay Golf and Resort’s West Course where more than $3,000 worth of prizes were given to players.
“I am incredibly grateful for the support we received from our community last Saturday,” Saipan mayoral candidate Richard Lizama said. “We hope to see more of our community members at our future events.”
Tickets for the tournament were $130 each. The hole-in-one prizes included a brand new Hyundai Kona from Triple J Motors and a Santa Grutudis female cow.
The tournament featured a double peoria format, in which veteran golf player Joe “Kamikaze” Camacho bagged first place and $500 with a gross score of 66.
Zhu Xing Kai won second place and $450 with a gross score of 84. Securing third place and $400 in the tourney was Lester Manglona, with a gross score of 94.
Kim Kyu Leon won 4th place and $350 followed by Ben Duenas who won 5th place and $300. Joe Tudela secured 6th place and $250. Li Xiong Zhe won 7th place and $200 while Alvin Salas won 8th place and $150.
A total of 50 players joined Saturday’s golf open.
“We are glad to see a great turnout at Richard’s event,” CNMI Democratic Party Chairman Jonathan Cabrera said. “It goes to show how much the CNMI community believes in the Democratic Party.”
Chairman of the Committee to Elect Richard T. Lizama for Mayor, Ray Matsunaga, thanked all the sponsors and individuals who helped host the successful golf open.
“It was great to see that our constituents had a great time at our golf open,” Matsunaga said. “I am so appreciative of the support that we received from the volunteers, staff, and participants of the tournament.”
Matsunaga also thanked Meridian Land Surveyors for their help with the cash prizes.
