Hana defeats Old B Bank, 2-1, in soccer

THE Hana Football Club outlasted Old B Bank, 2-1, in a Division B game of the Marianas Soccer League Sunday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

It was a long game as defense dominated the first half with no goals scored after over 30 minutes of play.

At the 33rd minute mark, however, Hana eventually wore down Old B Bank’s defense as Ace Lee scored a goal to seize the lead, 1-0.

In the second half, Hana continued to apply pressure on Old B Bank. At the 47th minute mark, Hana’s Timothy Tawanipy slipped through to find the back of the net and extend the deficit, 2-0.

But Old B Bank never gave up the fight and after countless exchanges, found an answer in Rex De Jose who scored a goal to cut Hana’s lead, 1-2.

Time, however, was not on Old B Bank’s side, and they had to settle for defeat.
