The league scheduled their games every Sunday with 5 games per day at the Gilbert C. Ada gymnasium during the summer. The teams that participated in this league were Tropical Laundry, Marianas Resort, Joeten Superstore, Mobil, Armatech, Marianas Wireless, MBI-Right Guard, Kagman Sparks, Oche’s, and Wings Travel.
Team Mobil is currently the top contender of the league with an unblemished score of 10 wins and no losses is now scheduled to battle it out on the court face to face with team Armatech with a good score of one loss, credited to Marianas Wireless, and 9 wins.
Team Mobil had an easier opportunity as team Marianas Wireless walked out on the game in the last quarter because of two technical fouls given to them by referee Ray Lizama which they deemed unworthy and that they did not deserve those fouls.
One technical foul was given for a player hanging on the net and the other one that followed it was for excessive complaining during the game.
Team Wireless did complain because they were given several fouls and the ball possession was given to team Mobil many more times than it was given to their team, according to them.
The league commissioner did talk to the team’s officials and managers and gave them one more chance to walk back in and play, but they stood firm with their verbal “No’ and did not inch a budge or even made it seem like they had anymore interest in the game at all.
Meanwhile Armatech had quite a tougher time battling it out with MBI-Right Guard for the final seat in the championship round. Officials decided for the game to enter sudden death, over time, after finding the fault and technical difficulties within the score table and table officials.
But the final win for team Armatech was rightly credited to coach and team player, Elmer Esdrelon after being passed the ball from the opposing team, driving it back home, and successfully bagging it for another two points and securing the win.
The championship round is scheduled for this Sunday with the awards ceremony following shortly thereafter. The crowd is very much invited to see the league’s final Sunday to see who will be heralded worthy to be champions.
