Having it as the first event in the Oceania Swimming Championships now in Samoa, the open water swim proved to be a tough one as swimmers tread waters as fast as they could to win the race. However it was Bennet who got the best time at 100.22m to win the contest followed by fellow aussie, Brooke Wilson who came in 103.15m then Hawaiian swimmer Jasmine Mau with a time of 108.22m
Three girls from Palau namely, Maria Gibbons, Osisang Chilton, and Antja Flowers bested their own personal best on the 5kilometer swim when they came in with a time of 124.02m, 129.08m, and 131.08m, respectively.
Our girls are accompanied by their Coach Tina Shima. There are more series of swimming indoor sprints this week.To get full results please check updates at the www.oceaniasport.com.
