Gibbons and Bornovski will play a big role for the men and women swimmers of Palau having been in many international and regional swimming competitions under the Palau flag, while dominating local swimming challenges on different styles as well as the open ocean water events, both athletes will definitely carry the bulk of the load for the upcoming swimfest.
Not to mention other outstanding upcoming swimmers as well, namely Osisang Chilton who was named athlete of the year after showing huge improvements on her swimming form taking home various medals after beating opponents from different categories and time trials. In addition to the team also is Jam Domingo who joined team Palau recently and was also declared athlete of the year for swimming when he captured a handful of medals on different events on the previous year.
Team Palau swimmers are made up of eighteen young boys and girl athletes ranging from 7 to 19 years of age. For the girls, aside from Gibbons and Chilton, the team will also be represented by Ryolin Akiwo, Gayle Bronovski, Antja Flowers, Keesha Keane, Rukebai Kikuo, Rhema Maido, Romellen Maido, Eulla Masao, Dirgulbai Misech, and Sikosang Yobech. On the other hand, Youri Ito, Noel Keane, Nelson Masang, Demei Yobech will stand with Bornovski and Domingo for the boys.
