Barcinas said that as they prepare for the annual volleyball event that NMI missed for two years, they are also aiming at players who plan to compete in Micro Games that will be held in Palau a few months from now.
“We hope that during this tournament, we can perhaps tap some of the players to tryout for the upcoming Micro Games in both divisions,” Barcinas said adding that they are keeping themselves busy with “financing part” hoping to make it with the help of sponsors.
Although the venue is still being finalized, the Jam Attack will be on Jan. 29, 30 and 31.
The Island Volleyball Club, the event’s lead organizing committee, Barcinas said is also working closely with the Northern Mariana Island Volleyball Association in assuring NMI’s participation in Micro Games.
“At this time, I want to put aside yesterday’s miseries and let’s move forward for a change. We are working diligently to make sure that we meet the deadlines for this year’s competition in Palau,” Barcinas said.
The Hopwood Junior High School principal added that they are “running miles per hour” trying to get a lot of paper works and other critical documents to submit in a hope that volleyball will be included in the regional event in which the CNMI representatives have done an excellent performance.
