Kobler Elementary shines in All Schools Championships

The Lady Umangs began the campaign in the 100 m dash on a high note with Kristine Pude and Virginia Imperial clinching gold. The former dominated the 10U category with 15.29 while the latter posted the best time in the 12U age group with 14.45.

Pude then continued the reign in 200m reaching the finish line  33.95. Pude beat San Antonio Elem. School’s Pauline Bondoc (35.25) and fellow school mate Tyvie Ann They (35.32).

In the 10U category for the 200m Kobler dominated yet again, with Angeline Rejano finishing in 31.58 and closely tailed by Gregorio T. Camacho Elem. School’s Patricia Santiago (32.46) and fellow Umang Virginia Imperial (32.47).

The Lady Umangs reaped gold in the 8U 4×100 relay, 10U 1500m, 10U softball throw, 10U 4×100 relay, and the 10U 4×400 relay medley.

In the boys’ division, the Kobler Elem. School’s Coby Santos finished first in the 8U 100m besting eight other competitors with 14.78. Traven Quitugua was second in 15.26 while Eddy Cho was third with a time of 15.26.

During the 8U 4×100 m relay, the Umangs topped the division after Jared Reyes, Lawrence Worswick, Coby Santos, and Kenneth Kaipat worked together to finish the relay in one minute and 5.48 seconds.

Saipan Community School’s long distance runner Tammy Ackerman also bagged gold medals in the 12U 800m, 1,500m, and 3,000m run posting the best time.

Ackerman posted 02:49.51 in the 800m, 06:08.42 in the 1,500m, and 13:29.58 in the 3,000m besting 10 other competitors vying for the top spots.

The lady Hilitais from Hopwood Junior High School also shined during the two-day meet.

Keolani Rios clinched gold beating fellow schoolmate Riella Ichiuo in the 100m with 14.17 while the latter was not far behind with 14.72. Saipan Community School’s Xuan Jun La finished at 15.06 taking home the bronze medal.

Rios was then seen giving her all in the 200m sweeping gold in the category as well with 30.68. A second later Saipan Community School’s Lydin Johnson clocked in at 31.84 garnering silver followed by fellow schoolmate Mil Han Oh (32.23)

Meanwhile Alexandria Vergara won gold in the 800m with the best time of 2:59.13.

Vergara caught up to Lydia Johnson during the last 200m stretch of the second lap breaking away with the lead in the last 50m to beat Johnson by a few milliseconds.

Johnson settled with silver officially clocking in at 2:59.45 with bronze awarded to Hopwood Junior High School’s Mikayla Lopez (3:22.22). The Hilitais collected gold medals in the 1,500m, 3,000m, discus throw, and shot-put throw.

In the boys’ division, Hopwood Junior High School won their their first gold in the 100m dash courtesy of John Babauta who bested six other competitors with 12.08.

Babauta later followed it up with another victory in the 200 m posting the best time of 27 seconds flat, then proceeded to dominate the long  jump with a jump of 4.88 meters.

Fellow Hilitai Jesus Rabauliman hurled the javelin farther than five other competitors’ throw with a distance of 29.36 meters.

Hopwood Junior High School boys took gold in the discus throw, shot-put, and high jump events.
