Korean golfer shoots 68.2 to win inaugural Friendly Golf

Hyup earned a handicap of 22.8 and bested 89 other participants including Saipan’s Steve Balakrishna and Lim Sang San.

He shot 8-over par 44 in the front and had 11 extra strokes in the back nine to earn a gross of 91.

Balakrishna fired one stroke over par 37 in the front nine and crawled in the back nine shooting 6-over par 42 for 79 gross which his 8.40 handicap trimmed down to 70.60.

Another visiting golfer, Choi Duk Hyung beat by a hair strand, the next best participating local golfer, Lim Sang San.

Hyung eve pared 36 in the front and shot 9-over par 45 in the back to gross 81 from which he scored a net of 71.4.

Lim Sang San shot 8-over par 44 in the front nine and slowed down to 11-over par 47 in the back. He netted 71.80 from a handicap of 19.20.

Also making it to the top five was Has Soo Teak who shot 6-over par 42 and 47 in the front and back nine respectively for gross of 89 which his 16.8 handicap pulled down to 72.2.

48 amateur golfers, most of whom brought their families played with Saipan’s local golfers.
