Terson Eina who had recently joined Michael Muna in the list of pitching leaders, had 13 strike outs handing the Falcons a hitless first inning. He allowed three base hits, walked one and the rest that he gave the Falcons’ batters were empty swings.
Roman Reyes walked, and after the second out, Alexander Litulumar singled, then, Jessie Brel knocked-in a run-scoring double, improving further his batting record. His feat on the batting plate as of May 13 was 23 hits at 41 at bats.
The Ol’ Aces, some of them will be joining their former team mates in the junior division next year, went undefeated from the regular season all the way to the finals.
Muna singled and stole scoring spot, then, with two outs in the second inning, Payton drove him in with a single.
Still, Eina did not allow a run in the third inning, although the Falcons also held them scoreless in the next half.
Virolanson Secharmidal walked in the fourth, Muna doubled for his second base hit, and with one out, Payton drove in a run.
Batting on Roman Reyes’ place, Franklin Lizama fired a two-run single and the Ol’ Aces strengthened their lead.
Brel got the first base on an error by the second baseman, then, stole second base in the fifth inning. Kenji walked, before he and Brel stole their way to scoring positions.
With Payton on deck, Eina got struck out.
Payton’s second swing hit the ball and he cleared the base with a single to widen the gap and secure the championship crown for Ol’ Aces.
The Falcons had two run, from Angel Palacios’ double and Chris Sablan’s single.
Survivors 7, Red Sox 6
After three straight scoreless innings, Allen Cepeda and Jester Kintaro hit an RBI single apiece and helped the Survivors cut the Red Sox lead in the bottom of the fourth inning.
James Kintaro added three more to his strike out counts to keep the Red Sox scoreless in two innings.
With two outs in the fifth inning, Caleb Takao knocked in a run-scoring double for the Survivors.
Cepeda and George Pangelinan singled as the Survivors rallied in the sixth with Anthony Deleon Guerrero Truman Shiro driving in runs with a walk and single respectively to hand the Survivors the Little League majors’ consolation win.
