Kanae Quinn, who is among the organizers of one of the island’s major sport events said Dalhausser will play in the exhibition match between U.S.A. and Japan.
He will also be conducting volleyball clinic for the children and play with whoever wins in the tournament.
Dalhausser and his partner, Roger Todd captured the gold on Aug. 21, 2008.
He was selected as the American Volleyball Profession’s best offensive player for the past three straight seasons, the Federation Internationalle de Volleyball’s best blocker for the past two years as well as the best hitter in 2007, and was chosen as the AVP’s most valuable player in 2007.
Paul Baxter, an FIVB professional who ranked eighth in both digs and kills in AVP tour and advanced to five final fours will also participate in the event.
The pro exhibition game on March 6 will be followed by pool play and double elimination on the next day.
Hosted by the PIC since 1993, the 2009 Annual Marianas
Cup Beach Volleyball combines the talents and professional players and the enthusiasm of amateurs. Last year’s event was sanctioned by FIVB that also certified nine members of Northern Marina Islands Volley Association as level one coaches.
“This long standing event began in 1993 and has grown each year with players from around the world to enjoy the hospitality, beauty and great weather that Saipan has to offer,” Quinn said.
Amateur teams may buy $10 raffle ticket to get a chance to play with one of the professional teams.
FIVB standard two-person beach volleyball rules apply in the games.
Entry costs is $60 per team and the deadline will be on March 5.
