ON Monday, a group of runners from the United States, Canada, and Poland will reach the halfway mark in their pursuit of the Pacific Island Countries Challenge, which entails running five marathons across the Asia-Pacific region.

Run Saipan will help them achieve that goal, with their third marathon set to take place on the island.

Their journey began with a marathon in Brunei on Jan. 18, followed by another in Taiwan on Jan. 23. On Jan. 27, they will be on Saipan, then in Guam on Jan. 29, and finally in the Philippines on Feb. 1 for the last leg of the challenge.

Run Saipan will take part in the challenge on Monday, Jan. 27, by not only participating in the marathon but also organizing the course.

The runners will complete 22 loops at American Memorial Park, covering a total of 26.2 miles. Joining the marathon are Run Saipan members Ann Bang, Chad Taflinger, Landen Taflinger, Dr. Ron Snyder, and Phillip Joseph Santos.
