The Sixsevenohs performed a stunning offense as brothers Edward and Anthony Diaz led their team through out the court in the latter half of the game, ending the game, 101-94.
The Runnin’ Rebels gained an easy lead in the first quarter with 22-13, having the Sixsevenohs struggle behind them. The Rebels kept pressure on Sixsevenoh’s Kelvin Fitial, preventing him to make baskets or rebounds.
The Sixsevenohs finally gained their first lead during the second quarter, with Anthony Diaz landing 11 easy points.
Near the end of the game, the Rebels’ constant rushes towards the basket caused them to lose points, which are being stolen by Edward Diaz and Kelvin Fitial.
The Sixsevenohs had to exert a little more effort as well, after missing a few shots. Runnin’ Rebels’ Leroy Rangamar threw a three-pointer, nearly giving his team the lead once again, but unfortunately they came shorthanded.
Bacardi Mojito Hi-5s 81, Bud Ice Rollers 80
The Bacardi Mojito Hi-5s came out victorious against the Bud Ice Rollers, 81-80.
The Rollers maintained their lead in the first half of the match with Manuel Matagolai and Leo Galarse marking some lay-ups.
Juan Ogarto took over their pace during the second quarter, hitting eight points with two of his shots behind the three point line.
Players from the Bacardi Mojito Hi-5s made their breakthrough during the third quarter, when Kae Bernardo and Dave Sablan took advantage of the Rollers’ loosely thrown passes, as they dashed through them with easy steals.
Together, the Hi-5s piled 44 points in the second half. They caught the Rollers off guard, with Hi-5’s Dave Sablan dunking in 9 more points for the fourth quarter. Sablan earned the highest score of 23 points throughout the game, trailed by Bernardo.
With a final jump shot from the Rollers’ Zachary Babauta, both teams came very close into overtime.
