Japan’s Shinako Tanaka and Hiromi Suzuki pounded Korea’s Kyung Su Shin and Su Min Jun in the first game with nine points, 21-12.
And in the second game against Snyder and Koester, the Japan’s duo even tied it a number of times.
However, the U.S. pros would not just let is easy for them. Koester proved Suzuki’s towering appearance was not a problem as she bombarded her with sharp hits.
Snyder for her part showed a lot of ball-saving moves with twists and dives to keep the ball in the air and turn the table at their opponents to keep the lead.
Synder and Koester agility put the Japanese starts into a number of errors that helped them claim 21-19 victory.
“It was a really good play. I had a lot of blocks but Koester was as defensive as I was,” Suzuki said.
Suzuki and Tanaka said they know they can easily win the game against South Koreans so they really prepared themselves for the match with the U.S. counter parts.
For the first time, South Korea’s Kyun and Su encountered the U.S. tandem in the sand so they knew from the start the exhibition game goes to Jenn and Jenelle.
The third game ended 21-8 in favor of the U.S. duo.
“Height is not really factor in volleyball,” Jung said but she has to admit they had a hard time doing their own game in the sand.
“We don’t really play out door. We’re used to play indoor volleyball,” Jung who played her second Marianas Cup said through a young translator.
