The Ol Aces grabbed the winning momentum from the Sonics in the first quarter with Ryan Lisua clocking in 6 points and teammate Trevor Omar securing a strong 2 point lead by contributing 4 points to the Ol Aces by the end of the first quarter.
Anthony Web and Luther Taylor each collared 4 points to widen the gap to 6 points after the Sonics had a difficult time breaching through their defense with only Adrian Palacios and Leo Galarse scoring for the Sonics, by half time the score was 30-2; Ol Aces leading the way fiercely.
The Sonics finally got their act together whilst entering the second half of the game. Team player Bryan Ajoste breaks through the Ol Aces’ defense to fend off 6 points speedily for the Sonics. Team player Galarse jumps into the band wagon and steadily helps Ajoste by contributing 4 points to the team, not only closing the gap but also yanking the momentum from the Ol Aces; eventually they lead by 3 steady points by the time the siren sealed the third quarter shut.
Both teams anticipated the fourth quarter along with the crowd. It was history for the Ol Aces with only Wes Tomokane breaching through the Sonics’ defense in the last ten minutes of the game. Tomokane was able to successfully bag one downtown shot and two jump shots tallying in 7 points for the Ol Aces.
Leo Galarse taking the lead for the Sonics bagged another 6 points with less than a minute left in the game.
Coach Omar Ajoste advised his team players to take it easy in the last seconds of the game with the Sonics bagging in a come from behind win against the Ol Aces, 59-52.
