“We are proud of our boys and the effort they put forth throughout the season. It’s been a grinder and on behalf of the coaching staff we would like to congratulate all the boys and their parents. Our hats go off to the Lion Kings coaching staff and their manager for putting up a good fight,” said Keith Nabors in an email to the Marianas Variety.
The Lion Kings received the sportsmanship award during the awards ceremony that was done by the Tinian Little League Baseball Association’s Vice President Edwin Aldan.
Other awards that were given out after the game include: Regular Season Most Valuable Player Esteven Sablan, RBI King Ignacio Borja, Strikeout King Christian Masga, Most steals Esteven King, Batting Title Top three; 1st place was bagged by Joseph Sablan with a .485 followed by Esteven Sablan with a .447 and Marvin Cruz, Jr. seated himself comfortably in third place with .406.
The Typhoons also bagged the Pennant Champion trophy while second place was awarded to the Lion Kings. The Most Valuable Player award from the champion team was given to Ignacio Borja.
The Typhoon roster included: KJ Nabors, Dachelbai Cruz, Marvin Cruz, Jr, Ignacio Borja, Esteven Sablan, Joseph Sablan. Victor Shai, Jr., Joel Untalan, Marc Babauta, Joseph Mendiola, Jr., Jose Roberts, Christian Masga, and Zachary Hofschneider.
Team Lion King’s roster was made up of: Juan DlGuerrero, Joey Aquiningoc, Cory San Nicolas, Eugene San Nicolas, Elvin Borja, Jessebel SanNicolas, Ana San Nicolas, BJ Borja, Justo Castro, JD Castro, Rudy Lazaro, Jr., Dominic Santos, and Tasha Emul.
