SUFA notched a win in the men’s division of the 2023 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball League by outplaying Wattsup, 13-6, at the Dandan baseball field on Sunday.
Sufa started strong with Sonny Sablan and Paul Salalila filling the bases with a single each and were then brought home by Audie Maratita who connected a three-run homer before Wattsup could stop the bleeding.
Wattsup bagged two consecutive outs but committed errors that allowed Sufa to sneak in three more runs.
In the bottom of the first inning, Wattsup Joe Lizama hit a homerun which was followed by team mate Fuji Suel’s RBI single to close the gap, 2-6.
But in the top of the second inning, Sufa went on another scoring spree highlighted by Salalila’s two-run homer for a 10-2 lead.
Wattsup continued to put up a fight with Jun Lizama contributing two runs in the bottom of the third and adding two more runs in the fifth.
Sufa, for their part, scored runs in the fourth, fifth, and seventh innings to remain in control en route to victory, 13-6.

Joining the winner’s circle were Hagu Lamun which silenced Aimeliik 1Time, 12-0; the Man Amigos who outlasted the Red Men, 12-8; Tokahao which powered past Tuturamz, 10-3; and Asahi which routed Momma Charu, 21-0.
