The chiefs of the Otong Clan announced on Saturday that they have given their consent to Avangelisto Ongalibang.
Seven out of the 10 chiefs gave their consent to Ongalibang who will replace the former chief Iluches Reksid.
The clan was able to overcome the dispute it was facing over the selection of the new No. 1 chief.
The clan in the traditional ceremony, had a feast after the announcement of Ongalibang as the new chief.
Reksid died a year ago, leaving a vacancy in the traditional leaders seat.
The ceremony to announce the new chief came with the traditional gifts and feast prepared by the clan to thank the traditional leaders for selecting Ongalibang.
