Swinging 60’s Red Cross Club 200 set for Oct. 23

The event will take place at Fiesta Resort & Spa and will feature a Swinging 1960’s theme. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite 60’s clothes including peace signs and flowers in your hair. The evening will feature great music and videos of the 60’s as well as a special time capsule raffle and silent auction

The raffle will include a grand prize of $15,000 cash as well as airline tickets, vacation trips and many other fantastic prizes.

Tickets are $100 and can be purchased from any Red Cross ticket seller or by calling the NMI chapter at 234-3459

Co-chairs this year are Bob Coldeen, Jocelyn DeLeon Guerrero and Ta Bun Kuy.

SSHA student orientation

(SSHS) — Saipan Southern High School will be holding new student orientation for freshman (9th grade) students on Thursday the 26th of August. Freshman only 9 to 11 a.m. morning session or 1 to 3 p.m. afternoon session.

All other new students (upper classmen grades 10th, 11th, 12th) will have orientation on Friday the 27th of August, 9 to 11 a.m. morning session only.

All students who were “evaluated” at Hopwood in the spring were still required to register at SSHS.  Students were not registered; they were only evaluated as a pre-registration process. As a result all new students at this time wishing to register for school at SSHS will be transferred to Marianas High School.

SSHS is overcrowded. all students must attend orientation with parent or legal guardian on the day and time specified. Students who do not attend may be placed on the transfer list due to overcrowding. Students will not be allowed entry without their parent or guardian.
