TWO juvenile detainees, including one charged for armed robbery, escaped from the juvenile detention center in Kagman on Tuesday night.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Pete C. Muna said as of yesterday, the escapees—who are 16 and 17 years old—were still at large.
At 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Muna said guard Hainrick J. Ogumoro escorted four detainees to the library at the detention center so they could study and “do some artwork.”
After an hour, two detainees asked Ogumoro to allow them go outside so they could “spray paint their work.”
Ogumoro escorted the two. Once outside, one of the escapees requested the use of red spray paint. The guard then turned around to get the paint.
As the guard was opening the door, he instructed the two detainees to go to an area where he could see them.
At this point, the guard noticed that the detainees were gone and so was his radio.
