PTI in 7-game winning streak over DCCA, 100-89

With about two to three weeks to the playoff series, the phone pals’ seventh straight win with no loss, keeps them on top of this year’s league which for the first time, was modified into a competition of teams from government and business organizations.

Bank of Guam, the second team from the business group to join the tournament also enjoys six wins but had to make up for their four losses.

Although PTI failed to stop DCCA’s Elias Rangamar from scattering 35 points in the court, an equally aggressive offense paved the way for Sanciangco to respond consistently.

DCCA was leading in the first quarter with Taj Van Buren and Rangamar firing from behind the arc but several errors in passing put PTI on the upper hand.

Sanciangco and Esdrelon took turns in scoring from perimeter lines stretching the lead at the end of the second quarter to 13 points.

Sanciangco who basketed his three free throw shots scored 33 points while Esdrelon added 19 points including the two consecutive three-pointers in the first quarter and another one short from behind the arc in the fourth quarter.
