Guam hosts Pacific animal welfare workshop

THE World Society for the Protection of Animals will be hosting its fifth Pacific Animal Welfare Workshop in Tumon, Guam on Aug. 20-21, its media release stated.

The workshop aims to bring together animal protection groups in the region to share skills, experiences and tactics.

The agenda will include volunteer management, companion animal issues and policy development.

Delegates are from Palau, Yap, Guam and Saipan where similar challenges in creating positive change for animals are faced.

“The Pacific workshops have been welcomed by our member societies as an opportunity to learn from one another and recognize the progress being made, which is critical due to the isolation of the region,” said WSPA member society manager Rachel Smith.
