Dr. Jean Van Keulen, consultant is conducting the training so that the employees will be able to perform their job well and to ensure that it conforms to the standards.
Eydeline Ikeya , Head Start Program Executive Director said that the training will help the employees plan on how to achieve the federal regulations.“There is a need for ongoing training on how to apply regulations to day to day work,” Keulen said.She added that the regulation includes comprehensive early education, child development, health services, physical, health, mental and oral health services.She said the federal regulations can be overwhelming and that the staff need guidance in order to plan the services.Palau is receiving an amount of $1. 4 million for the program.In April a review committee was here to conduct assessment on how the program is being implemented.The training begun on Wednesday and will end today.
