Former Saipan Rotary Club president Kim Forrester said the students come from one of the areas hit by the devastating earthquake and tsunami on March 11.
The four students are Mika Sunouchi, Yuki Oshima, Kie Inoue and Umi Asazuma.
In an email to the Rotary Club of Saipan, Yoichi Matsumura of Pacific Development Inc., sought volunteers who will provide assistance and home stay for the students for two nights.
The students, who are from 16 to 17 years old, will arrive on May 14. On May 15, they will join the Sophia/Fiesta Walk & Fun Run. On May 16, they will visit Kagman High School.
“We are glad that they still decided to go on with the exchange program,” Forrester said.
The visiting students will make a courtesy call on the Saipan Rotary Club during its meeting on May 17.
They will spend two nights at the Saipan Grand Hotel before going back to Japan on May 18.
PDI will shoulder the transfer and incident costs during the students’ stay on island.
