Tickets/bingo packages are for sale at $25 per package and $30 at the door.

Each player is guaranteed 12 games and all participants must be at least 18 years old.

Sobriety/DUI checkpoints

(DPS) — The Department of Public Safety’s Traffic section will conduct the following DUI checkpoints:

• Aug. 15

Beach Road Garapan by Bank Pacific, 7:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m.

Chalan Pale Arnold Road, Gualo-Rai by Sherwin Williams Building, 10 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.

• Aug. 16

Beach Road, Susupe by the multi-purpose building, 1 a.m. to 2:15 a.m.

Family Fun Day

ON Aug. 22, Saturday, Laolao Bay Golf & Resort will host Family Fun Day 2009.

Highlights this year are the on-course bike-lane and walkathon, the husband-wife and parent-child best ball golf tournament, and “Big Truck Day.”

Puengin Inetnon

PUENGIN Inetnon will be held again today in the Kagman Community Center’s parking lot from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

There will be vendors selling food, drinks, snacks, clothing, and crafts.

The Library’s Bookmobile will also be there.

Puengin Inetnon is a family oriented event. Alcohol will be prohibited from the event.

Saturday Flea Market

KAGMAN’S Saturday Flea Market will be held tomorrow in the Kagman Community Center’s parking lot.

You may only sell your used items. Tents will be provided.

Red flag raised at six sites on Saipan

(DEQ) — The Division of Environmental Quality has raised the red flag at six sites on Saipan and advises the public not to fish or swim within 300 feet of these locations for the next 48 hours or until otherwise notified.

Samples collected from Central Repair Shop, DPW Channel Bridge, S. Puerto Rico Dump, American Memorial Park, Garapan Fishing Dock and CK District #2 Drainage contained excessive concentrations of fecal indicator bacteria — enterococci — that exceeded the CNMI’s marine water quality standards.
