Babauta says high cost of power, poor health services top concerns

“People are basically suffering and they need some kind of relief,” Babauta told Variety.

The Juan-Galvin tandem is conducting a house-to-house campaign  that includes Rota and Tinian.

The team is running against Rep. Heinz S. Hofschneider and running mate Speaker Arnold I. Palacios in the Republican gubernatorial primary on June 27.

Babauta said he and Deleon Guerrero continue to consult with the people.

He said they have “become personally involved in how the people feel about what’s going on in the community.”

Most of the complaints were about the high cost of power and the poor services at the Commonwealth Health Center, Babauta said.

He said the members of the community were eager to hear about their platform of government.

“I find the people very courteous and very polite,” he added. “The one thing that I appreciate is that our people, regardless of their political affiliations,  will talk to you about the issues that affect them and so you learn from them.”

He said the people are concerned about the economy  and jobs.

“These are big issues that have affected a lot of people.”

Deleon Guerrero, in a separate interview, said they have gathered a lot of information from their meetings with the people that can help address their concerns.
