Court considers defendant’s cooperation in assault case

Aquino, who admitted the charge of assault and battery, was sentenced to one year imprisonment, but all suspended except for 30 days.

Naraja took into consideration the cooperation extended by Aquino to the authorities, and credited the penalty to time she already served in prison.

She will pay a $250 fine, court assessment and other fees.

Assistant Attorney General Eileen Escudero Wisor prosecuted the case while attorney Steven Pixley served as defense counsel.

Aquino, along with Audrey T. Camacho, Bernadita T. Sarkar  and Francisco M. Tydingco, were arrested and charged with kidnapping and assaulting a man.

Other details of the case were not immediately available.
