Superior Court Associate Judge Perry B. Inos directed Theodore O. Pehnos, 23, Roland R. Kaipat, 29, and Shabbo C. Sablan, 21, to answer the charges of burglary, criminal mischief, and conspiracy to commit burglary on Monday, Nov. 29.
The defendants were remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections after their preliminary hearing.
They were each being held on a $15,000 cash bail.
Assistant Attorney General Eli Golob is the prosecutor while the defendants are being represented by Brad Huesman, David Banes, and Assistant Public Defender Michael Brown.
Victim Helen Ala-Alou said the cost of damage amounted to $10,435.20, according to Detective Steven A. Castro.
The Department of Public Safety received a call regarding a burglary in progress at Shirley’s Restaurant at about 2:07 a.m. on Nov. 15, 2010.
Responding Officers Jeff Bahillo and John Cabrera first arrested Pehnos who was hiding in a grassy area.
Police recovered a bolt cutter from his possession.
Police also found copper wire already skinned and ready for transport in a generator room of a nearby building.
Kaipat was arrested while hiding in a small utility room.
Sablan tried to escape but was subdued by the officers.
