The game started out quite slowly in the first quarter but nonetheless Tony Luzana, Jack Diaz, and Bruce Berlin worked hand in hand to snatch the winning momentum for team Top Forty Five after Luzana, Diaz, and Berlin collected 4 points a piece respectively. The lone star Jun Abedes was only able to score 6 points against the 45’s strong defense.
By the end of the first quarter the 45’s were able to blast a big gap between themselves and the Ferrera Builders by 14 points 20-6.
In the second quarter the 45’s were able to keep their 14 point lead against the Ferrera Builders after team players Tony Luzana and Bruce Berlin scored 8 points and 6 points respesctively.
In his heroic attempt to close the gap the 45’s Warren Villagas scored a downtown shot followed by a sharp jump shot from off the key to secure 5 points for his team whilst his teammate Roger Valencia bagged another 4 points.
By half time the Ferrera Builders kept their strong presence enforced by strong defense and offense tactics.
Both teams entered the second half of the game with strong courage and one common goal, to hand the opposing team the losing end.
Luzana readily showed his honed basketball talents in the second half of the game with no hint of fatigue whatsoever after collaring another 8 points for the 45’s two of which were charity shots after being fouled while attempting a jump shot from the key line.
Ferrera Builders’ Lilio Tiples and teammate Jun Abedes did not go down without a fight and breached past the 45’s defense line several times. Tiples was able to score 5 points and teammate Abedes collared 4 points in the last 4 minutes of the third quarter.
Unfortunately for the Ferrera Builders, the 45’s stretched the gap to 19 points by the end of the third quarter, 58-39.
Both teams entered the last quarter of the game bravely but fatigue got the better grip of the Ferrera Builders. Felix Palacios was able to contribute his 8 pence to the 45’s while his teammate deposited another 4 points to secure their win against the Ferrera Builders by the end of the game, 79-61.
