Korean pros enter HOM race

With a $1500 cash award for the 1st Open Male and 1st Open Female, the HOM promises to deliver exciting race as these Korean pro cyclists will compete against other pros, Konstantin Fast of Russia, Jazy Garcia of Guam and Japan’s Takahiro Ogasawara.

Mr. Seo Joon Yong, age 23, won the nation’s 2008 Best Cyclist Award, competed in the National Team from 2007-2009 and placed first with a new Korean record at the 2010 National Sports Festival.

Mr. Choi, Seok Yoon, age 25, participated in the 2006 Doha Asian Game on the National Team, placed third at the 2010 National Sports Festival and second in the 2010 ACC Track Asian Cup.

Last year, two Russian pros Alexander Bagenov and Eugeniy Smarchkov captured the title with a time of 3 hours 3 minutes and 25 & 26 seconds, respectively, blowing away their closest competition, Hwan Geol Lee, who placed fourth overall behind female Open winner Amber Halliday with a time of 3 hours 14 minutes.  Former Saipan physician Eli Torgeson, captured the course record in 2008 with a time of 3 hours 2 minutes and 22 seconds.  The 2010 champion’s goal will be finish in three hours, averaging .55km per minute.
