The Rollers’ Michael Yap and John Darag grabbed the driver’s seat from the G-Stars after young Michael Yap fended off a down town shot followed by a lay up whilst teammate John Darag slipped past the G-Star’s defense twice for two successful lay ups in the first quarter of the game.
At the end of the quarter Rollers’ small dymanites were able to secure a strong 5 point lead over the G-Stars, 11-6.
Ankie Manalili was able to chip in 4 points to the G-Stars in the beginning of the second quarter along with teammate Ed Cudia who also tallied in another 4 points in their heroic effort to close the gap made in the first quarter.
But Jason Iglecias of the Rollers took both of them on by scoring 6 points all by himself to keep the G-Stars at bay.
The Rollers were able to maintain a 3 point gap by the close of the first half of the game to keep a 23-20 deficit.
After a 5 minute silence from both teams in the third quarter, John Darag broke the silence after connecting two jump shots to give the Rollers the major upper hand of the game causing the deficit to be 36-32 by the time the siren wailed to seal the third quarter shut.
In the final ten minutes of the game, the Roller did not let the G-Stars score anymore. Together the Rollers banked in 13 points together to secure their win over the young G-Stars stretching the final scores to be 49-32.
